Chad quiere beneficiarse de la experiencia marroquí en materia de mediación

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Chad, Saleh Kebzabo, expressed Tuesday in Rabat his country's keenness to benefit from Morocco's Ombudsman experience.

In a statement to MAP on the sidelines of his talks with the Kingdom's Ombudsman Hassan Tariq, the Chadian official said that his visit aims to draw inspiration from Morocco's experience in this field, especially since the Ombudsman Institution is a true reference in this area in the country.

Kebzabo also spoke of exchanges between the two parties in order to share best practices, knowledge, and experiences in general, and in the field of institutional mediation in particular.

For his part, Tariq noted that the purpose of this meeting is to bolster relations between the two parties, noting that the Kingdom's Ombudsman Institution enjoys “significant international influence” thanks to its commitment and presence over the past 20 years in global bodies and fora.

He added that strengthening relations within Africa is part of the Ombudsman Institution's strategic plan for the period 2026-2030, recalling that Morocco and Chad enjoy excellent ties to be further promoted, particularly with regard to the African ombudsman system.

Such meeting with African and foreign counterparts provides an opportunity to enshrine the exchange and sharing of experiences, he noted, adding that several African ombudsmen aspire to promote their relations with the Kingdom's Ombudsman Institution as a reference body on the continent.

The Ombudsman of the Republic of Chad is currently on a working visit to the Kingdom (September 16-19), during which he will meet with several Moroccan officials representing various sectors.
