La música marroquí, protagonista del concierto "Sounds from Home" en Washington

Moroccan music enchanted the public during a concert organized Tuesday in the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington DC in a bid to celebrate dialogue and coexistence through art and musical performance. 

Morocco joined renowned artists from Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Lebanon, and the Sultanate of Oman to deliver an outstanding performance during this event dubbed “Sounds from Home”.

Held in partnership with the Morocco's Embassy in Washington and the diplomatic missions of all the Arab countries represented, this event brought together ambassadors, U.S. senior officials, as well as prominent figures from the realms of art, media, culture, and civil society. 

Speaking at the event, Morocco’s ambassador to the United States Youssef Amrani highlighted the diverse nature of the Kingdom's musical heritage which is the outcome of the interaction between Arab, Amazigh, Andalusian, and Saharan traditions.

He also praised the creativity of younger generations of artists whose repertoires blend the authentic and the modern, contributing to enriching Moroccan identity and promoting intercultural dialogue. 

The ambassador noted that Morocco's participation in this event underlines a dynamic cultural diplomacy, aimed at promoting the image of a modern Morocco committed to the universal values ​​of peace, tolerance, and solidarity. 

The North African country was represented at the event by the famed singer Nabila Maan known for her style that blends traditional and contemporary sounds, accompanied by the talented musician Tarik Hilal. Together with the American Pops Orchestra, the Moroccan duo delivered a masterful rendition of the song "Ana Fnit." 

During the artistic event a special mention was made in honor of the work accomplished by St. Jude Children's Hospital and their commitment to children suffering from serious illnesses, mainly in conflict zones. 

This collaboration provided increased visibility for the institution's programs in the MENA region, highlighting the importance of cross-border solidarity in the service of universal causes.

By promoting its artistic talents and partnering with such initiatives, Morocco reaffirms its role as a bridge between cultures and its active contribution to promoting a world based on cooperation, dialogue, and humanist values.
