Morocco Actively Participated in Arab-Islamic Emergency Summit

Doha, 15/09/2025 (MAP) - On High Instructions of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom of Morocco actively participated in the work of the Arab-Islamic emergency summit held Monday in Doha as a display of solidarity with the State of Qatar following the Israeli aggression, Morocco's ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the League of Arab States Mohamed Aït Ouali said.

In accordance with the High Royal Instructions, the Moroccan delegation actively contributed to the support and adoption of resolutions in favor of the brotherly State of Qatar, aimed at safeguarding the security of its territory, as well as that of its citizens and residents, Aït Ouali stressed in a statement to the press following the summit.

The gathering was an opportunity to reiterate that this aggression would likely jeopardize security and peace in the region, plunging it into a spiral of violence and reprisals, he reminded.

In addition, Aït Ouali spoke of the leaders of Arab and Islamic states participating in the Summit highly commending the significant support provided by the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, and its executive arm, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, to support Al Quds residents.

In the final statement at the close of this summit, Kings and Heads of State of Islamic and Arab countries reiterated their solidarity with Qatar, condemning Israel's aggression against the State's sovereignty.

They stressed that Israel's aggression against the State of Qatar and its ongoing hostile practices undermine peace prospects and peaceful coexistence in the region.

The final statement welcomed the adoption by the United Nations General Assembly of the New York Declaration on the implementation of the two-State solution and the creation of an independent Palestinian state, reflecting the international will to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, in particular their right to the creation of an independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Al-Quds as its capital.

HRH Prince Moulay Rachid represented His Majesty King Mohammed VI at the summit.

The Moroccan delegation to this summit included the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita; the Moroccan Ambassador to Egypt and Permanent Representative of the Kingdom to the League of Arab States, Mohamed Aït Ouali; and the Kingdom's Ambassador to Qatar, Mohamed Setri.

The summit featured speeches by the Emir of Qatar, His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the heads of delegations from several participating countries.
