Morocco Has Developed Genuine Cultural, Educational Strategy to 'Immunize' Society Against Extremism- Official

Morocco has developed, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a genuine cultural and educational strategy designed to "immunize" society against extremism, stated the Secretary General of the Rabita Mohammadia of the Ulema, Ahmed Abbadi.

"This immunization of society, an internal metabolism capable of discerning good from evil, is achieved through the training of families, schools, communities, and media, as well as through innovative gamification in children’s programs. This tool integrates values through play, thus allowing for more natural learning,” noted Abbadi in an interview with the Italian newspaper Ius101.

According to Abbadi, "this approach is the result of deep reflection on the role of religiosity, breaking away from the extremists’ illusion that religiosity can be controlled through rigid rules and a strict list of what must or must not be done."

Morocco, aware that society is a complex whole composed of diverse elements, each with its own social and cultural specificities, has developed its policies by taking these differences into account and adapting interventions that are "calibrated and respectful of each reality," he stressed, emphasizing that the Holy Qur’an is a sacred text that must be interpreted as a luminous guide to provide direction amid life’s challenges.

The Moroccan model is based on an educational strategy that involves all levels of society, he added, stressing that "rigorous and continuous work, leaving no room for illusions or superficial approaches," has been carried out in Morocco for over twenty years with determination and consistency, under the wise leadership of His Majesty the King.

"The Moroccan model thus stands as an illuminating and viable example of an Islam of peace, capable of embracing the complexity of human existence," he concluded.
